Dr. Soo Jeong Youn is a clinical psychologist and Research Director for Equip, where she focuses on improving access to effective mental health care through implementation science, data-driven clinical practice, and dissemination of evidence-based treatments. Her research has emphasized psychotherapy process and outcome, therapist effects, routine outcome monitoring, practice-oriented research networks, precision mental health care, and scalable interventions.
Across her work, Dr. Youn has sought to bridge the gap between psychotherapy research and real-world clinical practice, especially in community and underserved settings. She has been a leading voice for closing the research-to-practice gap by building partnerships between researchers and frontline clinicians, and by developing tools and systems that make outcome data useful at the point of care.
Dr. Youn has received national and international recognition for her contributions to the field and is currently President of the North American Society for Psychotherapy Research (NASPR).
