Clinical psychologist and expert in Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy and the Structural Analysis of Social Behavior — tools for understanding the deep interpersonal roots of psychological distress.
Dr. Ken Critchfield is an Associate Professor and Program Director of Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. His work centers on Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy (IRT) and the Structural Analysis of Social Behavior (SASB) — a system for mapping and understanding interpersonal patterns in psychotherapy and everyday relationships. He has been a leading figure in applying these frameworks to clinical practice and training.
Dr. Critchfield's research examines how early relational experiences shape adult interpersonal patterns, and how those patterns manifest in the therapy relationship itself. His scholarship connects personality theory, empirical assessment, and clinical intervention, and he has trained clinicians internationally in the use of SASB. His work is particularly relevant to therapists treating clients with personality disorders, trauma histories, or chronic relationship difficulties.
